DSIP reconstitution calculator
Solution arithmetic for lyophilized DSIP: concentration from vial mass and solvent volume, the solvent volume for a target concentration, and aliquot volumes. The molecular weight (848.8 Da) is filled in so results also show millimolar values. You enter every amount; nothing is suggested.
Sample mass and solvent volume to concentration.

Formulas
- Concentration: mg/mL = mass (mg) ÷ volume (mL). µg/mL = mg/mL × 1000.
- Solvent volume: volume (mL) = mass (mg) ÷ target concentration (mg/mL).
- Aliquot volume: volume (mL) = mass wanted (mg) ÷ solution concentration (mg/mL). µL = mL × 1000.
- Molar: mM = mg/mL ÷ molecular weight (g/mol) × 1000.
- Units: 1 mg = 1000 µg. 1 mL = 1000 µL.
Worked arithmetic for DSIP
Each cell is simply mass ÷ volume, with the molar value from the listed molecular weight (848.8 Da). Rows use the vial size listed in the catalogue. The table illustrates the formula; it is not a recommendation for any amount or volume.
| Vial mass | 1 mL solvent | 2 mL solvent | 3 mL solvent | 5 mL solvent |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 5 mg | 5 mg/mL 5,000 µg/mL · 5.89 mM | 2.5 mg/mL 2,500 µg/mL · 2.95 mM | 1.67 mg/mL 1,670 µg/mL · 1.96 mM | 1 mg/mL 1,000 µg/mL · 1.18 mM |
Formulas used
- Concentration: mg/mL = vial mass (mg) ÷ solvent volume (mL).
- Molar: mM = mg/mL ÷ 848.8 g/mol × 1000.
- Aliquot volume: µL = mass wanted (µg) ÷ concentration (µg/mL) × 1000.
Stated vial mass is gross lyophilized powder. Net peptide content can be lower because of counter-ions and water; the purity and net peptide content calculator corrects a nominal concentration if you have those values.

DSIP calculator FAQ
How is DSIP concentration calculated after reconstitution?
Divide the vial mass by the solvent volume. For example, 5 mg in 2 mL gives 2.5 mg/mL (2,500 µg/mL). This is unit arithmetic only, not a recommendation for any amount.
How do I convert DSIP mg/mL to millimolar?
Divide mg/mL by the molecular weight (848.8 Da) and multiply by 1000. 2.5 mg/mL ÷ 848.8 g/mol × 1000 = 2.95 mM.
Why can the real concentration be lower than the calculated value?
The stated vial mass is gross lyophilized powder. Counter-ions (such as acetate or TFA) and residual water mean net peptide content is lower than gross mass, so the true peptide concentration can be lower. The purity and net peptide content calculator applies that correction if you have the values.
Is this calculator for human or veterinary use?
No. DSIP is sold for laboratory research use only. This page performs solution arithmetic on the numbers you enter and gives no dosing or usage guidance.
